Sai Pallavi Talks About Sita on KBC 18
Sai Pallavi says playing Sita in Ramayana is a special experience, as she sees the role as an opportunity to gain knowledge rather than simply perform as an actress.
As part of the film’s promotions, Sai Pallavi and Ranbir Kapoor appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. During the show, Sai Pallavi was asked how she felt about getting the opportunity to play Sita.
The actress explained that she usually thinks about what she can contribute to a character whenever she takes up a film. However, she approached the role of Sita differently.
Sai Pallavi said she did not want to overthink the character or focus on what she could bring to it. Instead, she wanted to understand how much she could learn from playing Sita.
She also revealed that she set aside some of her existing knowledge before beginning the role and entered the sets with a prayer to Sita.
Her words impressed Amitabh Bachchan, who praised her response.
Sai Pallavi’s approach highlights the importance she places on the character. Playing Sita in Ramayana is a significant responsibility, given the place the character holds in Indian culture and the expectations surrounding the epic.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman.
The makers are planning to release the epic in two parts. The first part is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 5, 2026.
