Sakshi’s Ratings Plummet, Worry for YSR Congress?

Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC) had released the latest ratings of News Channels in Telugu. The surprise is that Sakshi TV owned by Chief MinisterYS Jagan Mohan Reddy do not figure in the Top Five list. This is not just a one-off case.

It is happening for the past few weeks. Sakshi is in Top 3 almost every week before the elections. Does this indicate any problems for YSR Congress? Especially with Local Elections fast approaching. However, they can take solace from the fact that TV9 and NTV which are heavily biased towards YSR Congress are in Top Two Positions.

In Top Five, only TV5 is inclined towards the Opposition Telugu Desam Party. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh Government is keen on completing all the location elections by the end of this week itself. Only then, the Government would get the funds of the 14th Finance Commission.
