Salaar Bookings: Real Reason Behind Delay!

The much-anticipated release of Prabhas and Prashanth Neel’s film, ‘Salaar,’ scheduled for December 22, has generated immense excitement among fans nationwide.

While advance bookings have already commenced in cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai, fans in Hyderabad find themselves in a different situation, as bookings are yet to open, leading to disappointment and curiosity among the audience.

The delay is attributed to ongoing negotiations between Mythri Movie Makers, holding the Nizam rights for ‘Salaar,’ and the Telangana government.

The film distributors have sought additional screening slots and a potential ticket price increase, awaiting approval from the newly formed Revanth Reddy government.

The request for a ₹100 hike in ticket prices for both multiplexes and single screens is seen as crucial for Mythri Movie Makers, given their record investment in the movie’s rights.

Despite the setback, there is optimism surrounding potential government approval, as seen in the case of ‘RRR.’ The film team has applied for permission not only for ticket price hikes but also for special shows in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The key question is whether the Andhra Pradesh government will grant these requests, crucial for ‘Salaar’s’ success. If approved, it could significantly impact the film’s reception.

In a surprising move, there are reports that online bookings may be bypassed for certain Nizam centers, reviving the nostalgic tradition of ticket purchases directly at theaters. This approach may pose risks in managing large crowds. Prabhas’ fans are finding this move risky and strange.

Salaar is the best bet for Prabhas after Baahubali and fans don’t want any strategy to backfire and affect the collections. They are already disappointed with the delay in opening bookings. They are also praying that the state governments allow for a massive price hike for Salaar.

Opening collections are extremely crucial for big-ticket films like ‘Salaar’. It is tough for such movies to break even if the ticket prices aren’t hiked to the next level.
