Prabhas and Prashanth Neel have managed to pull the Hindi audience to the theaters in pretty decent numbers despite the lack of the promotions up north.
It was initially estimated that Salaar could have a Rs 100 crore opening week in Hindi but it was later adjusted to Rs 96-97 crore due to drop after first Tuesday.
However, the film fell slightly short of that adjustment as well. It posted Rs 94 crore nett opening one-week at the box office. This might be slightly short of the expectation but it is a pretty decent number regardless.
Despite the clash with Dunki, Salaar held its own in the Hindi belt and recorded a Rs 94 crore nett opening week. Hadn’t it been for the clash, the film might’ve touched the Rs 100 crore mark with better hold in multiplexes where Dunki has been dominant.
Salaar has seen little to no support from other languages so the collections of Telugu and Hindi versions are ultimately important. A long run in Hindi will do a world of good for the film. The film is on course to become a Rs 600 crore worldwide grosser.
