Samantha’s Period Drama’s Male Lead Found

Director Gunasekhar who will be helming the mythological romantic drama ‘Shakuntala’ with Samantha playing the titular role has zeroed upon the actor who will be playing King Dushyantha after getting the look tests and test trials done.

He is a Malayalam actor named Dev Mohan who was a Mr India contestant and a model. Looks like the director wanted a fresh face with the right kind of physique to be the king who must look like the heartthrob for the young girls.

The actor underwent horse riding and presently getting his Telugu lessons. That means the name was revealed after they carefully did all the preparations for the role. Donning a mythological role means getting the look and the diction right are a must. So, let’s wait and see how Dev Mohan would into Dushyanta role in ‘Shakuntala’ alongside Samantha.

By the way, while ‘Shakunthala’ is loading and the makers are getting ready with all the pre-production work done, there had been rumours that Samantha may quit and take a break, probably for extending her family with kids. But, those rumours seem to be unfounded going by the current update about Dev Mohan.
