Samantha Looking For Female Directors

Samantha looks set to resume her acting career. She took a brief layoff before announcing separation from Naga Chaitanya and now, she has lined up a couple of pan-India projects.

In her latest interaction with a media house, Samantha Ruth Prabhu emphasised on the importance of more and more women entering the film industry.

“I for one am always ready to collaborate with female directors. My ambition is for women to get their due in cinema and have more women be a part of the film industry. I’d like to empower talented female writers and directors by working with them,” she says.

All her career, Samantha has been working with male directors and she now seems to be interested in collaborating with female filmmakers. Notably, she had recently worked with Nandini Reddy for Oh Baby.

The seasoned actress says she is playing her dream role in Shakuntalam. “I always had the dream of playing a princess on screen and am getting to fulfil the same with Shakuntalam as I play princess Shakuntala,” she said.

Naga Chaitanya’s immediate next project is a bilingual that will be directed by director-duo Hari, and Harish. The film is likely to hit the floors this month.
