Sandeep Vanga Admits His Mistake

Rashmika Mandanna as Geethanjali in Animal became quite a popular character after the film’s release. Her performance was also effective and people loved her in that role.

Interestingly, initially, Parineeti Chopra was chosen for Rashmika’s role. Sandeep recently shared in an interview that Parineeti was also the first pick for his earlier movie ‘Kabir Singh’.

Sandeep admitted to his mistake, saying he signed Parineeti a year and a half before the shooting but realized during the look test that she didn’t quite fit the character of Geetanjali. He humbly acknowledged, “It’s my fault. I told her to forgive me. I signed her, but for some reason, I didn’t see Geetanjali in her. Some characters don’t match certain people.”

Despite wanting Parineeti for ‘Kabir Singh’, the timing didn’t work out. Sandeep said that he doesn’t believe in auditions and trusts his instinct. He revealed, “I always wanted to work with her as she is a fine actor. I told her, ‘Sorry, nothing is bigger than the film. So I’m going ahead with another artist.’ She felt bad, but she understood why I was saying that.”
