Vanga, It Is Time To Stop

Sandeep Reddy Vanga doesn’t hold back in terms of societal norms nor while he makes his films or while delivering off screen opinions. But the issue, here is that he is getting a bit too carried away with his off screen persona and digging unnecessary holes.

Very recently, Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao stated that films like Baahubali and Kabir Singh promote misogyny by reducing female characters to literally nothing. This was not in a mainstream film interview or anything but to a web media outlet.

However, Sandeep Vanga didn’t let it go easily. He quoted the statement of Kiran and said “This Aamir Khan’s second ex-wife is speaking about misogyny while her husband did a song like ‘Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai’. And his Dil film, he almost rapes the heroine. One should look at their own work before pointing fingers at others.”

Vanga was unapologetically shrewd about his reply to Kiran Rao and later, Kiran clarified that she doesn’t know why Sandeep reacted that way. She claimed that her earlier statement on films like Baahubali and Kabir Singh is a generalised one and not targeted one. She said she hasn’t particularly watched any of Sandeep’s works to critique him.

The commentary from Bollywood followers is that it is time for Vanga to stop his unnecessarily aggressive approach to others views on his body of work. Their comment is that Vanga makes the kind of films that are bound to get dual response from the audience and that can’t be ridiculed by Vanga by giving it back to each and every person that expresses discontentment with his film.
