Sanjay Dutt walks out of jail, Again!

Actor Sanjay Dutt who has been sentenced to a five year jail term in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts case has been serving it Yerawada Central Prison in Pune. However, latest news suggests that the actor is once again granted parole for 30 days on account of his daughter’s illness. This has raised a lot of issues regarding the preferential treatment celebrities get in cases like this.

It is certainly clear from the statistics that state in his two year term, Dutt has spent an astounding 146 days out of the jail. He has been repeatedly granted furlough and parole leaves for numerous reasons, with the latest being a 14 day furlough at the start of this year so that he could spend the holidays with his family.

This has led to a lot of sarcastic and angry reactions from the Twitterati with people going as far as to state that the 56 year old actor has been serving his sentence on an EMI basis.
