Venkatesh Daggubati and Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam released in theatres on 14th January and it has opened on a super positive note at the box office. Here’s a look at the opening day collections of the film.
According to the communication from the makers, the film collected ₹45 crore gross on its opening day, which is a pretty steep number for a Venkatesh starrer. At the North American box office, the film collected over $700k till now.
This is by far the biggest opener in Venkatesh’s career till now as this is the highest gross reported by any of his films till date.
The film is clearly benefited from the tailored Sankranthi entertainment that it offers. With the other two films Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj being serious films, the family audience heavily sided with this entertainer that was cooked by Anil and Venky.
Anil Ravipudi has very much mastered the art of cooking proper Sankranthi films that have immense potential at the box office during the festival season. He has made this Sankranti season, his own with his consistent track record.
Venkatesh also needed this huge box of relief after the disastrous Saindhav, which went completely unnoticed last Sankranti season.
This film has now emerged as the primary choice for the Sankranti audience, and it is expected to go great guns at the ticket counters with a long run, looking increasingly imminent.
