Sexual Exploitation In TFI: Rogue Caravan Culture

Jani Master issue has triggered a storm in the industry. Suddenly there are discussion if the industry being a safe place for women.

By and large, the opinion is the Film Chamber is doing nothing and the Government has totally ignored the exploitation that is happening here.

In the FIR registered against Jani Master, the victim had highlighted that Jani Master forced her in the Carvaan, and when she refused he held her by her hair and crushed her head into the mirror.

The Vanity Vans called Carvans in the industry have become shelters for such obnoxious activities.

In the past, there used to be no Vanity Vans. Everyone including the heroes would sit in the open and everything they do is public.

Later, Vanity Vans used to be only for the stars. But things changed drastically in the last few years. Everyone started demanding Vanity Vans. Even for medium-range films, multiple vanity vans are deployed in the location.

These vehicles have slowly become shelters for things like adultery and there are people who even consume liquor and weed.

Each Carvaan costs 4-5K per day. This does not include Diesel, Power, and Battas. Altogether each Carvaan will cost 10,000 Rupees per day. The cost will rise further if the big actors are involved and high-end caravans are deployed for them.

In the case of big names, no one except their personal staff is allowed inside because they should not have access to what is happening inside.

Some people would not turn up even when the shot is ready. Even then, no one from the direction department and production have direct access to the caravan. They can only reach out to the personal staff to inform.

A producer said to M9 News that Caravan culture not only burned a hole in the pockets of the producers but also became a hub for all sorts of obnoxious activities and also resulted in delays in the shoots very often.
