As Pushpa 2 is roaring around the box office with its immaculate box office collections, Mufasa: The Lion King is about to set its sights at the box office tomorrow.
It is a sequel to 2019 The Lion King, which had a positive impact on the Indian box office collecting over 150 crores. The prequel had Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan dubbing the voices for the main leads.

After having a good showing in 2019, the film aims to make a similar impact at the box office as Shah Rukh Khan returns to dub the voice for Mufasa in the upcoming sequel. Gaining more regional audiences, the makers chose Mahesh Babu as the voice for Mufasa in the Telugu version of the film.
The film has a great local and countrywide advantage as SRK and Mahesh Babu might attract a lot of audiences. The film is currently selling more than 3k tickets on BookMyShow on an hourly basis.

With the pace it is selling tickets, the film might have a good opening of around 10 crores throughout Indian regions. As things stand, India might be the only profitable market for the film and it might pick up pace over Saturday and Sunday.
As Pushpa’s domination continues at the box office, Mufasa: The Lion King has high hopes from the Indian box office and has SRK and Mahesh Babu to attract more viewers and have a profitable start this weekend.

It would be interesting to see who comes out on top between SRK’s Hindi Dub and Mahesh Babu’s Telugu Dub as both the superstars will be battling it out at the box office. As the pre-sales suggest, SRK’s Hindi dub is selling tickets way faster than the Telugu dub. It remains to be seen who will clinch victory in this dubbed battle.
Having a pre-Christmas release might affect the overall collections but only time will tell if the makers are spot on with the strategy or not as Mufasa: The Lion King is ready to roar from December 20th featuring SRK as Mufasa in the Hindi version of the film and Mahesh Babu for the Telugu version.
