Advantage Chaitu – Disadvantage Maruthi

The opening day of Shailaja Reddy Alludu always seemed promising, and that has become true eventually. The movie has opened to a new record high (7 Cr Worldwide) for Naga Chaitanya by crossing the previous best Rarandoi Veduka Choodam (4.2 Cr).

The interesting fact to notice here is that of director Maruthi. For the fourth consecutive film, he has given the best openings to the hero he has worked with. Previously, the record opening days were for Nani, Venkatesh, and Sharwanand.

However, unlike the past occasions, there is a difference here. Word of mouth for Shailaja Reddy Alludu is similar to the last two films of Maruthi. The blame is put on the director for that. Naga Chaitanya takes the advantage here as opposed to Maruthi. It is because Naga Chaitanya will immediately follow up with Savyasachi, a film with better expectations. With Maruthi, unless he comes up with fresh content, another average one would take him backwards.

So, the actor takes advantage of the combo here and is going forward with his next. He can improve on the openings and plan his career wisely for better results. The director, meanwhile, has to prove his worth again with his future projects and rebuild a new and fresh formula.
