This question came from an actress who was asked to compromise for an offer to play a lead role. The actress was Shruthi Marathe who predominantly works in Marathi and Tamil cinema. The actress shared her share of sexual harassment stories and the way she was inappropriately asked to compromise and take a one-night stand.

Shruthi felt like she has to take a stand on the behalf of all the female actors and hence, asked, Who are you making the hero sleep with?” When she reported the same to the unit of the film, the director who asked this was replaced. Shruthi must be applauded for giving that reply as it’snot easy for the female actors to survive in the industry when they don’t agree to compromise and take one-night stands.

There was one more incident when she was asked to wear a bikini during the initial days of her career. It was a Tamil movie and back then, she didn’t identify that she was objectified as she was interested in the fact that she was getting an opportunity to make her career in films and thus, a big thing for earning fame.
