Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry Is No More

Noted Telugu lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry has breathed his last today, November 30. The legendary personality passed away at KIMS Hospital this afternoon at 4:07pm due to lung-related complications.

Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was brought to KIMS Hospital on November 24 after suffering from Pneumonia. He was put in the ICU and was given ECMO support to support his lungs. He was under critical observation. However, he was said to be in critical condition.

The Hospital issued a health bulletin about his demise. For the unversed, the iconic Telugu lyricist was active and penned over 3000 songs until 2020. He was accorded Padma Shri for his immense contribution via his work.

He had also won South Four Filmfare awards and was bestowed with 11 Nandi Awards. The demise comes as a shock to the Tollywood industry. The death comes close on the heels of choreographer Shiva Shankar’s demise.
