Size zero killed her opportunity

Bollywood heroine Kareena Kapoor Khan started the size zero figure and the craze spread like wild fire. Heroines till then were happy with their curvaceous figures and didn’t mind being a little bit hefty even. A few years back, being curvaceous was considered healthy and being too thin unattractive. But things changed all of a sudden. Nevertheless, South Film Industry remained unchanged regarding the zero figure. Zero size has never been the craze in South.

Tamanna, Samanta, Shruti Haasan, Anjali, Anushka and Tapsee never sported zero size in South films. But whenever Ileana, Shruti and Tamanna did Hindi films they sported leaner look. Back to South, they too come back to their original curvy self. A recent incident in Sandalwood (KFI), proves that South audience and cine folks do not approve skinny look. Erica Fernandes of ‘Galipatam’ fame signed for a Kannada film ‘Airaavata’ opposite hero Darshan. After a brief illness, when Erica joined the film’s shooting, she was found to have turned very lean and almost zero size because of her illness. Silently the director and hero opted to remove her from the movie and replace her with another heroine. All this simply implies that a strict NO FOR ZERO here in South.
