Most-Watched Movie of COVID Year 2020

After the declaration of the first lockdown, all the theatrical activities came to a halt and there was no theatrical release from 24th March when the PM of India announced the commencement of the first lockdown. Since then, all the releases have been OTT releases.

Though several OTT direct releases disappointed big time, there are a few movies that hit the right chord with the audiences. In the North and Hindi belt, it was Sushanth Singh Rajput’s ‘Dil Bechara’ that took the grieving nation in a stride paying tribute to the deceased actor.

In the South, it’s undoubtedly Suriya‘s ‘Soorarai Pottru’ that has been recording huge views on Amazon Prime since its premiere. Besides these two movies, there is Akshay Kumar’s ‘Laxmii’ that was slammed by critics but the star, Akshay Kumar and the controversial content has been attracting audiences’ attention.

There’s a Malayalam computer screen written movie ‘C U Soon’ starring Fahad Fasil in the lead role that has garnered huge attention. So, with more than a month to go to bid adieu to the current year, we’ll have to wait for a few more days to know who is the clear winner in the category of the most-watched movie of the year.
