Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajinikanth, is currently promoting her film With Love as she returns as a producer after a long gap in the Kollywood industry. The film marks her renewed involvement behind the scenes after several years.
During one such promotional interview, Soundarya Rajinikanth shared her views on her father’s recently released film Coolie. Her comments quickly went viral on social media, drawing attention from fans and sparking widespread discussion.
She said she genuinely enjoyed the 10-minute de-aging sequence in Coolie. However, as a hardcore Thalaivar fan, she admitted she expected more from the film and clarified that it does not rank among her father’s favourite works.
Soundarya Rajinikanth also stated that audiences today seem to enjoy excessive violence. She chose not to go into further detail about Coolie, adding that she holds deep respect for Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has delivered several strong films.
Following her remarks, many social media users reacted by claiming that she clearly did not like the film. They believe she only appreciated the de-aging sequence but avoided openly expressing her disappointment in public.
Some users also pointed out that Lokesh Kanagaraj has frequently spoken about Coolie’s box office collections in interviews. In contrast, they feel Soundarya Rajinikanth’s comments suggest the film failed to impress even Rajinikanth and his family.
Several hardcore Rajinikanth fans have echoed her opinion online. They agree that apart from the de-aging sequence, the rest of the film did not meet expectations and felt largely underwhelming.
Soundarya Rajinikanth’s views on Coolie continue to trend across social media platforms. Many users are sharing their reactions, making her comments a major talking point among fans and film watchers.
