Director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming globetrotting adventure with Mahesh Babu, currently referred to as SSMB29 and marking the actor’s 29th film, is shaping up to be one of the most awaited cinematic events in recent years. Coming off the massive global success of RRR, Rajamouli now stands as an international brand, and expectations for this project are sky-high.
Recently, the filmmaker released an official statement along with a close-up poster showcasing Mahesh Babu’s rugged look, which also highlighted a pendant around his neck. He announced that a “never-before-seen reveal” is planned for November 2025, instantly creating a wave of buzz among fans and media.
The pendant has become a talking point online for another reason. Many Salman Khan fans noticed it looked similar to the one he wore in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), where it carried strong symbolic meaning. While pendant designs are not unique and the similarity could simply be coincidental, the comparison feels inevitable given the iconic imagery from Kabir Khan’s blockbuster. Rajamouli’s team has not yet commented on the speculation, possibly holding back until the grand reveal.
What remains unquestionable is the scale and ambition of SSMB29. With Rajamouli’s expertise in building grand cinematic worlds in films like Baahubali and RRR, and Mahesh Babu stepping into a role that promises global appeal, the film is poised to become a major worldwide attraction. If this pendant teaser is only a small glimpse of what’s to come, SSMB29 could turn into a landmark that once again makes India proud on the international stage.
