The film ‘Daughter of Varma’, featuring actors Vennela Kishore, Roja, Naveena Jackson and Kavita, was directed by Khaja and had been getting a lot of attention before its release. But as it seems, it was only until the film’s release and it’s all downhill from there.
The film stars Vennela Kishore as the lead actor named Rao Gopal Varma, a radio jockey who is a playboy and doesn’t believe in marriage and relationships. His life changes completely when he meets a girl named Deeksha, played by Naveena Jackson, who claims to be his daughter. Moreover, the girl has a son and Varma shockingly realizes he is a grandfather after which the movie progresses.
Major draw back of the film is when audience see Vennela Kishore in lead role every one thought it’s a comedy movie but this film deals with lot more than comedy like sentiment, emotions etc which makes it difficult to bear this comedian in lead role. But this is the very first film Kishore controlled himself and stayed away from over acting however a clichéd plot and tiresome songs just added to its disappointing factors and movie has become eligible to win a boring movie of the year award.
