Street vendors in Hyd using water from toilets!

If you are a big lover of Hyderabad Street Food, Just hold back until you read this. A study on the hygienic practices followed by food vendors and small restaurants in different parts of the city revealed shocking facts.

423 out of 500 surveyed street found vendors are using untreated water for cooking from nearby apartments, while only seven were using protective head cover. Even worse is that 15 out of 500 vendors were found drawing water for cooking from toilets of nearby apartments. None of these were using protective gloves to dump their raw material in nearby surroundings overnight.

Many of these vendors also have tobacco addiction, leaving the remnants of the ash on the food being served and almost all of them do not have the practice of washing their hands after visiting a toilet. Due to this every sixth person in Hyderabad who consume such food are prone to diseases like diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting
