Super Hits That Would Have Struggled Theaters

, ‘Middle Class Melodies‘ and ‘Krishna And His Leela’ are three movies that turned out to be blockbusters with a direct OTT release. These movies worked really well with a huge number of audiences watching them.

However, if the situation was different and if it wasn’t for coronavirus and the lockdown, the three movies would have had theatrical releases and we can’t say that their outcome would have been the same. The three movies might not have had a long run or made such big numbers in theatres.

If we take ‘Krishna And His Leela’ into consideration, the movie neither has star power or intriguing content to pull the audiences to the theatres. But, it worked well on a digital platform because the content catered to the college-going youth and the present generation living on OTT platforms, literally.

Colour Photo‘ and ‘Middle Class Memories’ didn’t have stuff to cater to the crazy gen-next but, the high on values made them work on OTTs. The same might not be possible if they had a theatrical release as the reach of the films will depend on the backing and strong promotions.
