Suriya 50 Has Two Big Names. Who Will Get It?

Suriya 50 is suddenly turning into one of the most talked-about projects in Tamil cinema, but there is still no clarity on who will actually direct the landmark film.

One side of the buzz points to a massive combination, Shankar directing, with A.R. Murugadoss reportedly providing the story. The idea of Suriya teaming up with these two filmmakers has naturally created plenty of excitement. Interestingly, Suriya and Shankar were earlier associated with the ambitious Velpari project, adding another layer to the speculation.

But there is another, even bigger possibility doing the rounds. Suriya 50 is also being linked to Rolex, with Lokesh Kanagaraj reportedly planning the standalone action film. Suriya has already confirmed that Lokesh is working on the Rolex script, although the actor has admitted that the project’s start date is still uncertain.

With Suriya 48 already locked with T.J. Gnanavel and his 49th film being linked to H. Vinoth, attention is now firmly on the milestone 50th film.

For now, neither Shankar nor Lokesh has been confirmed as the director of Suriya 50. But the clash between these two rumours is what makes the project particularly exciting.
