After the back to back failures of Kanguva and Retro, Suriya has lined up multiple projects to regain momentum. The actor has completed shooting for Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji.
Suriya has also wrapped up his tentatively titled Suriya 46, which is directed by Venky Atluri. Both films are currently awaiting release.
Even before the release of these projects, Suriya has already begun filming his 47th project. This film is being directed by Jithu Madhavan, marking another addition to his packed schedule.
According to reports, Suriya’s lineup after Suriya 47 includes collaborations with Pandiraj, Parasuram, Mari Selvaraj, and Vetrimaaran. While there are no official announcements yet, these projects are said to be almost confirmed.
Social media users have reacted positively to this ambitious lineup. Many feel that these collaborations look strong on paper and have the potential to take Suriya to the next level of his career.
However, some fans have raised concerns. They point out that many of these directors are known for offbeat and content-driven films. As a result, fans are urging Suriya to also work with commercial filmmakers to satisfy his B and C centre audiences.
With continuous theatrical failures over the past decade, Suriya is currently in a difficult phase. A major commercial success is seen as crucial for him to reclaim his market position.
Given the strong collaborations ahead, a potential comeback appears to be loading. However, it remains to be seen if these projects materialise as planned and emerge as massive blockbusters upon release.
