Suriya’s Big Comeback: Delayed but Not Dead?

FFollowing the back to back failures of Kanguva and Retro, Suriya has almost completed shooting for his next two films. These include Karuppu directed by RJ Balaji and Suriya 46 directed by Venky Atluri. Both projects are seen as crucial for his career revival.

The shooting for Karuppu began last year, with the team initially targeting a Diwali release. However, multiple delays disrupted the schedule. Due to these issues, some portions of the film are still pending and the shoot has not been fully completed.

Meanwhile, the Suriya 44 team is close to wrapping up its shooting schedule. Despite this progress, the makers have not announced a release date. The team reportedly wants Karuppu to release first before finalising plans for the other film.

Amid this uncertainty, strong speculation suggests that Karuppu is being planned for a February release. Post-production work is currently progressing at a fast pace. This development has increased discussions around the film’s possible release window.

This speculation has brought some relief to Suriya’s fans, who have been disappointed by repeated delays. For several months, frustration grew online, with fans openly criticising the Karuppu team on social media over the lack of clear updates.
