Suriya Couldn’t Pay Rs 5 But Donated Rs. 25 Lakhs

It’s always good to look back and keep ourselves deep-routed like Suriya. The guy faced a lot of troubles when he was in school, back then, there was a drought in his area and he was not even able to pay Rs 5 for a group photograph in school. Later, when Suriya became a successful actor, he donated Rs 25 lakhs to the same school.

Suriya reminisced about his childhood and the difficulties their family faced during the 39th annual event of Sri Sivakumar Educational and Charitable Trust awards. The actor and his father, veteran actor Sivakumar felicitate the underprivileged children who are extremely good in academics with awards and prize money.

Suriya is also known for his Agaram foundation through which he is helping many underprivileged students with regard to their education. Suriya said that they used to struggle with one meal a day, walk miles without slippers and no new dresses for Deepavali or Pongal. That was his childhood and that’s why Suriya understands the plight of those who struggle for the sake of basic education.
