Suriya’s ET OTT Platform Sealed

Suriya’s ET, which is billed to be a commercial action drama hit the theatres today. The film opened to rather weak reviews. Here’s a look into the OTT premieres aspect.

The post theatrical digital streaming rights of ET were acquired by Sun NXT while the satellite rights are held by Sun TV (Gemini). Sun usually prefers to have television premieres ahead of OTT premieres, so there could be a delay in the OTT release of ET. It is heard that ET might premiere on OTT this April, but there is no affirmative update in this regard.

Sun NXT is also known for sharing the digital streaming rights with Netflix, or other top platforms so we need to wait and see if ET will have any other OTT partner apart from Sun NXT.

The Suriya starrer already had poor advance bookings and now, the negative word of mouth will further affect its box office prospects. The film will be replaced with Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam which is releasing tomorrow, 11th March.
