Jailer 2 Hindi: OTT Destroyed Hrithik Roshan’s Cameo?

Jailer 2 is scheduled to arrive in theatres this week. However, the makers have opted not to bring the Hindi-dubbed version to the big screen, as the film will arrive on an OTT platform four weeks later in all languages.

As of now, the Hindi-dubbed version will be released only at single screens instead of multiplexes. Sun Pictures has already signed a deal with a big OTT platform, and further updates on the same are currently awaited. If the reported news is true, the film is expected to arrive on OTT by November 2026.

On the other hand, the decision has now led to heavy criticism, specifically from Hrithik Roshan’s fans, after multiple reports confirmed that the actor was doing a cameo in Rajinikanth’s film. Notably, the film already features other Hindi actors like Jackie Shroff, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty.

Although the Hindi-dubbed version will not be released in theatres, Hrithik’s fans questioned the makers for not focusing on promotions in North India. They even asked the reasons behind casting Hrithik and other Hindi actors if the plan was not to release the Hindi-dubbed version on the big screen.

A lot of Hrithik’s fans expressed disappointment over the fact that most of them would probably not get to enjoy a glimpse of the actor since, due to the festive season and low promotions, Hindi audiences are hardly going to show any interest, forcing most of the theatres to remove the film at one point.

The fans even stated that the movie’s OTT release after four weeks has already destroyed its potential at the box office and it will impact the collections expected at the single screens in the Hindi belt.

Supporters of Hrithik even stated that since the actor has not signed any new films yet, they were expecting to see him for a brief period until his next big arrival. However, the fans are now unhappy since that won’t happen anymore, and because Hrithik has not shared an update about his next movie, the wait to see him in theatres might be a little longer.

The makers have not yet responded to the criticism emerging online. Now it remains to be seen if the audience’s frustration will force them to bring the Hindi-dubbed version to the theatres or if they will go ahead with what they have planned.
