Flop Combo For The Fourth Time

When this director and star combination happened the first time, it was a blockbuster that changed both their career trajectories. Since then, they have come together two more times, but unfortunately, the result was far from satisfactory, be it critically or commercially.

We are talking about the actor-director pair of Suriya and KV Anand. Their last two films after blockbuster Ayan have been disappointing, to say the least. However, the buzz in the industry is that the duo is all set to come together for one more flick. It will be their fourth association.

The last film in their combination was Kaappaan (Bandobasth in Telugu). It was made on a vast canvas with a massive star cast. Still, the movie failed to get going at the box office.

As things stand today, both KV Anand and Suriya are going through a dull phase. It will be interesting if they come together for a new flick, again. The subject and the budget would be under the scanner, for sure.

Suriya is currently awaiting the release of Soorarai Pottru (Aakasham Nee Haddura in Telugu). It will be followed by a film with Vetrimaran of Asuran fame. If these films click, a follow up with KV Anand would do no harm. Let’s wait for an official confirmation, though, before speculating anything further.
