US BO: Outright Rejection

Well, whoever claims that star kids can get through the first test and easily create a successful career in films must need to think twice before making that claim, again. Mega Daughter Niharika Konidela isn’t one of them as she had no luck with her debut movie, the following movie and now, the third ‘Suryakantam‘.

The film grossed $13,532 from premieres including Friday collections. Isn’t that enough to understand where the film has been heading in the US market? Not very surprised as the movie has got poor reviews and the US figures are a mere reflection on the kind of content that was delivered to the audiences. There was no pre-release buzz whatsoever and the situation is no different even after the release, today. So, the mega daughter’s film was outrightly rejected.

On the other hand, RGV’s movie has brushed up some good luck and has grossed $158 K from two days and that is very decent for a film from RGV as his movies seldom pull the US audiences to the theatres. ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ has got poor reviews as well but the political interest and of course, the controversies had created a typical buzz and that worked in favor of the film.
