Thala Ajith is the Tamil Superstar who is often referred to as King of Openings. That is because, irrespective of the fate of his films, they always open big and many times are record breaking. Of course, the biggest of them all is none other than Rajinikanth.

Right now the biggest opener in Tamil cinema is Kabali. It is followed by Ajith’s Vedalam and Vijay’s Theri. The important thing to notice here is that all these films were before GST era. Now, everything has changed, the rates have increased and so have the taxes. Under the new system, Vivegam is the first biggie hitting the screens in Tamil Nadu. It is the reason why all the trade is eager to see how it opens.

The booking in Tamil Nadu is phenomenal. The opening is sure to be earth shattering. Will it be record breaking and cross Kabali? That, we will know in on August 25th. For now, what can be confidently said is that a record opening in Ajith’s career is assured.
