Telugu OTT: Disaster Start To 2022 For Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime Video is going super aggressive when it comes to content acquisition. But things are not all that promising for the OTT giant in the Telugu OTT space. After a bright start with Pushpa earlier this year, things have gone south rather quickly for Prime Video.

Prime’s recent OTT outing, Radhe Shyam was a disaster in box office terms and it couldn’t create much of an impact even after its OTT debut. This is one of their big-money buys and it bombed big time.

Now, Amazon Prime appears to have bagged another dud with Acharya. The film has opened to poor reviews following its theatrical release today. The chances of it faring very well after its OTT debut are also negligible. Amazon has taken another sucker punch.
