Income Tax Department raids were conducted at the residences and offices of prominent YouTubers, social media influencers, and content creators in Kerala who were suspected of not paying taxes as per their earnings.

The raids targeted 13 well-known individuals, including actress Pearle Maaney, in various districts of Kerala.

Now celebrities in the Telugu film industry are also worried that they will also have to face the wrath of IT raids.

Not only big celebs but many from the TV industry like anchors, small-time actresses, and others are earning huge revenue from social media platforms like Instagram. The lifestyle of many celebrities has improved in a big way in the last few years due to these earnings from social media. They are buying posh flats, plush villas, luxury cars, and whatnot.

These celebrities are right now in panic mode and are in constant touch with their tax consultants and are hatching out plans to cover up any loopholes regarding this unaccounted income from social media.

These celebs generate substantial annual incomes, but their tax returns do not accurately reflect their earnings, raising concerns about improper tax deductions and sponsored content. The investigation aims to verify their income statements and identify any financial irregularities.

Similar actions have been taken by the IT department in Tamil Nadu, targeting YouTubers for tax evasion and money laundering. The next target might be Telugu social media influencers, YouTubers, and content creators.
