Telugu states bigger for Suriya than Tamil Nadu

Suriya is a big star in Tamil cinema but off late he is on a decline as far as openings are considered. Failure of successive big hyped films is seen as a reason for this. Keeping this in mind many were skeptic about 24 and they have been proved right.

24, new film of Suriya directed by Vikram Kumar has opened to weak response in Tamil Nadu. For the first time a Suriya film has opened bigger in Telugu than in Tamil. Yes, 24 in Telugu has taken a bigger opening on day 1. What’s more even the talk of the film is comparatively better in Telugu than Tamil.

Even if the film picks up from now, this is a serious scenario to take care for Suriya whose primary base is Tamil industry. Now all hopes are on the third film in Singam series to bail the star out. It might do what its meant to but clearly Suriya would be happy for a big non Singam success.
