The Raja Saab Losses: Producer Responds!

Producer TG Vishwa Prasad has opened up about the recent setbacks faced by People Media Factory. He admitted that the banner suffered financial losses due to declining OTT business, a lack of discipline and deviations from its core production principles.

People Media Factory has delivered successful films like Goodachari, Oh Baby, Karthikeya 2, Dhamaka and Mirai. However, the production house has also faced setbacks with some of its recent projects.

The biggest disappointment was Prabhas’ The Raja Saab. Vishwa Prasad admitted that the film’s disastrous outcome was disappointing and pointed to its release timing as a major mistake. He felt the result might have been different had the film arrived in another release window.

The delayed premiere and the attempt to increase ticket prices also added to the problems. Vishwa Prasad acknowledged that the ticket pricing strategy was a mistake that should have been avoided. He did not blame director Maruthi for the result, but admitted that the team had made mistakes by allowing projects to move away from their original plans and fundamentals.

The producer also acknowledged that a lack of discipline contributed to the losses. He said the banner is now working to correct those mistakes. The decline in OTT business values has further affected the financial prospects of several films.

Meanwhile, Vishwa Prasad clarified that he is only the distributor of Spirit and not the producer of the Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga project. Decisions regarding its release and promotional strategy rest with the film’s primary stakeholders.

Speaking about Garividi Lakshmi, Vishwa Prasad said he is not approaching the film purely from a commercial perspective. Instead, the focus is on the story and the team’s conviction. He believes the film can gain momentum through positive word of mouth, even if it opens modestly.
