The Raja Saab Added New Scenes, Fans Feel Cheated

The Raja Saab Backlash

Prabhas’ The Raja Saab failed to meet audience expectations and faced strong backlash from all sides. Negative reviews and harsh word of mouth at theatres quickly took a toll on its box office collections.

Soon after release, fans complained that several scenes were missing from the theatrical cut. In response, director Maruthi announced changes to the film. Most notably, the scenes featuring Prabhas in his old age getup were added back.

This move only added to audience frustration. Many fans had already paid close to Rs. 1000 for premiere shows, while regular viewers spent around Rs. 500 per ticket during the first two days. After enduring such a terrible film once, they strongly objected to being pushed to spend more money to watch a revised version. As a result, director Maruthi is facing heavy backlash on social media.

What made matters worse were shocking technical errors that repeatedly pulled audiences out of the story. Instead of immersion, viewers were confronted with visible timestamps, progress bars, and even leftover HTML like elements appearing on screen. These glitches surfaced during songs such as Sahana and Nache Nache, and even during crucial dialogue scenes. Far from being isolated incidents, they occurred seven to ten times, turning initial excitement into irritation.

Screenshots taken by viewers inside theatres are now going viral on social media, highlighting the extent of the problem.

This is not a small or forgivable mistake. For a film reportedly made on a Rs. 400 to Rs. 500 crore budget, such elementary post production errors are simply unacceptable. Ironically, even small films made on Rs. 2 crore budgets manage to clear these basic quality checks. Yet here, a big production house and an experienced director like Maruthi allowed the film to hit theatres in a half finished and careless state.

Instead of getting lost in the film, viewers were constantly reminded that they were watching something poorly assembled. This made fans feel the team did not care enough to even meet minimum standards.

When fans rush to theatres on day one, they do so with trust. They trust that their money will buy a finished and professional product and Raja Saab broke that trust.

Prabhas, who already carries enormous expectations and box office pressure, deserves far better than this kind of careless execution. More importantly, the audience deserves respect. This is not just a technical failure. It is a failure of responsibility toward paying viewers.
