Shankar’s Game Changer was released on January 10th and has ended up as a huge disaster. Even the songs and BGM composed by Thaman in the movie couldn’t save it.
Thaman is one of the most celebrated music directors in Tollywood, but he hasn’t been able to attain pan-Indian limelight.
Although Thaman initially composed for the Bollywood movies like Golmaal Again, directed by Rohit Shetty, he couldn’t gain recognition among Bollywood audiences for his compositions.
Recently, he also composed music for the highly anticipated Bollywood movie Baby John, produced by Atlee, but the songs were not up to the mark.
The BGM was ok but since the movie was so bad, it went unnoticed.
Now again, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, one of Thaman’s crucial projects, didn’t perform well either. Neither his songs impressed nor the BGM, though his work was decent in parts.
Following this, many people on social media have commented that Thaman has been unable to crack the pan-Indian market and now needs a significant comeback.
They believe that in his current situation, no pan-Indian films are likely to approach him to compose music for their films.
However, Thaman now has two more opportunities to prove his capabilities: Sunny Deol’s Jaat and Prabhas’s The Raja Saab.
Even though both movies are regional (Jaat is a Bollywood film with Telugu director Gopichand Malineni, and Raja Saab is a Telugu film which will be dubbed into other languages), they both can achieve pan-Indian success.
If Thaman’s music plays a big role in their success, then Thaman might have the chance to get some more pan-India films.
