Thaman under fire for Power song

Music director Thaman is constantly criticized for the sheer repetitiveness in his music which is fine as it is the same problem with every other music director in Telugu film industry. But there are other kind of criticism which involves degrading of the music director and getting ridiculed. This kind of criticism comes due to copying stuff and the music director has been successfully evading this stuff so far.

But he has come under fire with the second kind of criticism recently with the release of the album of Power. This film which features Ravi Teja in the lead role has a song which is a direct lift of sensational hit Hindi number from Shahid Kapoor starrer R..Rajkumar. Ever since people have heard the album they have gone hammer and tongs with vile comments all because of this number. In the past too the only other occasion the music director was under fire similarly was when it was revealed that some of his numbers from Businessman were lifted. However as it’s a Puri Jagannadh film there were a section which let is pass as the director is notorious for urging his directors to copy stuff. But with Power even such an excuse isn’t viable.

We have to see what the music director has to say in reply to this recent accusation and plagiarism charges. Power is directed by KS Ravindra and produced by Rockline Venkatesh.
