Thaman’s copy cat image got him Suriya’s item!

Recently we’ve heard about the controversy regarding Suriya’s upcoming movie ‘Masss’ about a special song composed by SS Thaman while the music director of the film is Yuvan Shankar Raja. It was reported that Yuvan was literally cross with the makers of the movie and even declined to score BGM. Later everything was said to be sorted out.

Now the details of Suriya’s ‘Masss’ special item number scored by Thaman have been out. This special number is a remake of superhit Bollywood number ‘Gandi Baat’ from Shahid Kapoor-Prabhu Deva’s combo ‘R…Rajkumar’. It was learnt that Suriya was in awe of this item song. As he didn’t like the tune sent by Yuvan for a special song, he decided to have this Bollywood number in his film.

Yuvan Shankar works only on original numbers. Hence Thaman was roped in for remaking the song’s composition for ‘Masss’. As the makers got the rights from the Prabhu Deva’s film, it can’t be called a copy. However one is very well aware of the numero allegations on Thaman for copying tunes from super hit numbers from other languages. Doesn’t that easily relate to why the special remake song went to him!?
