The question is “Agent has crossed the budget expectations and costed more than expected. And moreover, why did it get delayed so much?”. The same question was faced by Akhil in multiple media meets in the past.
Today, when Akhil faced Telugu media, he faced the very same question again. He seemed agitated about it and quickly halted a journalist who was asking the same.
“Firstly, this project didn’t get delayed. We shot it for 110 days, like we’d do for any commercial film. But the first mistake we made was announcing the project even before the story was locked. The story got finalized a year after the announcement. And then there’s the Covid lockdown. All this made it seem like the project was delayed,” Akhil said.
Akhil added “While we were shooting in Budapest, Surender Reddy contracted Covid and was admitted to a hospital. He even sent me a video of him alongside a dead person from his next bed at the hospital. He couldn’t even walk properly for 3 months. It was a horrific stretch. All these reasons are factored in what you’re calling a delay now.”
Akhil pointed out that Agent is his most special film till now as all the while he wasn’t fully enjoying filming his projects but that wasn’t the case with Agent.
“I’m an action film lover. I wanted to do something like Agent from the very start but the films I did till that point were different. For Agent, I absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. I approached Suri about doing a proper action thriller and that’s how Agent happened,” he added.
Akhil seemed really confident about Agent which is up for release on the 28th of this month.
