In the recent outings, a course correction was done, and he has been shown according to his age. They are powerful, but somewhere the fun has been missing.

Director Karthik Subbaraj has brought that massy yet simple look of Superstar Rajinikanth to the big screen with Petta. He has struck that perfect balance that is not entirely over the top and also too realistic. It is back to the Muthu, Arunachalam, and Narasimha days with a small twist. The first look was in line with the overcolorfulness s, but the second look keeps it simple and shines without losing on the colourfulness.
