The film world is a source of immense for actors and actresses, usually because of their skills. However there are times when the actors are famous just for being the ‘lookalikes’ of popular celebrities. Long time back the actors only had ‘lookalikes’ when they needed their stunt doubles for action scenes and that was the trend. Nowadays it seems there’s a trend for similar looking actresses. There are many examples for this trend such as Reshma of ‘Eerojullo’ fame is the lookalike of Trisha and ‘Seema Tapakai’ fame Poorna looks a lot like Asin. The most famous one is Sneha Ullal who starred in Lucky featuring Salman Khan and the actor himself said that she resembles the renowned actress Aishwarya Rai.
While the actresses receive fame and attention because of the similarity of looks between them and another actress, some of them don’t like the comparison. Actresses often get mistaken for a more popular and successful actress. Actress Poorna who goes through the same as she resembles Asin, stated that it’s not really a plus point.
