The new twist in Salman Khan case

The ongoing Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case has seen quite a few twists and turns by now. But the road is hardly smooth going even now. It turns out that at the hearing of the appeal filed by the actor against his five year sentence in the case, it came to light that certain documents were missing from the ‘paper-book’, which is a compilation of all the important documents in the case prepared by the court registry and given to both sides.

This led to a chaos in the hearing with both prosecution and defence having arguments over the issue. The defence criticised the prosecution for its earlier statement that the paper-book was in order when there were documents missing. An application has been filed by the defence saying that since important documents pertaining to the defence has been missing, they cannot argue.

However, the prosecution retorted that even if the document was not in the paper-book, it was present in the “records and proceedings” and available for the defence lawyer. The matter will be decided tomorrow when the judge would give a ruling on the application.
