The Paradise sees strong USA bookings
Nani’s The Paradise is quietly turning into a box office surprise overseas. The buzz is real, and it is showing in the North America bookings. The film has already crossed $200K in USA advance sales, with more than 8,100 tickets sold. The numbers are particularly encouraging because the film still has 11 days to go for its premieres.
The interesting part is where this could take Nani. The Paradise is not competing with ordinary stars. Its current advance-sales momentum has created a possibility of beating the USA premiere numbers achieved by much bigger stars this year.
Ram Charan’s Peddi made around $1.5 million from premieres and reached approximately $1.9 million with Day 1 included. Prabhas’ The Raja Saab managed around $1.76 million from premieres and Day 1 combined in North America. Both films are considered huge underperformers.
Of course, The Paradise will need a huge spike as the premiere date approaches to beat the numbers of Raja Saab and Peddi. But the early trend is what makes the story interesting. XD shows are reportedly seeing particularly strong occupancy, while Regal has also started opening more shows. More screens and shows could give the film another significant push.
Nani is generally placed below the biggest Tier-1 Telugu stars in terms of market size and box office numbers. Yet The Paradise has the potential to beat the overseas openings of both Ram Charan and Prabhas in the same year. That would be a major achievement for a Tier-2 hero like Nani.
The film’s content will ultimately decide how far this momentum goes. Still, with 11 days remaining, The Paradise has already put itself in a strong position. If this pace continues, Nani could pull off one of the biggest overseas box-office surprises of the year.
