The Paradise Raw & Uncut Version

The Paradise is about to look different for audiences outside India. While the domestic version arrives after censor changes, overseas viewers are getting the film in its “Raw & Uncut” form.

No cuts. No mutes. No beeps. The overseas version retains the portions that were altered for the Indian theatrical release, giving international audiences a closer look at the makers’ original presentation.

The Indian version went through 21 censor changes before receiving an A certificate. Several intense portions involving violence, bloodshed, language and visuals were reportedly modified, muted or removed during the certification process.

Interestingly, the wait ends for Indian audiences too tonight. The Paradise premieres are scheduled across the South at 9 PM on September 23, a day before the film’s official theatrical release on September 24. Overseas audiences, however, will be watching the Raw & Uncut version.

That makes tonight’s premieres particularly interesting. The first reactions will start pouring in from both sides, but the version being watched overseas will have something Indian audiences will not get in the same form.
