Theatre owners threat Kamal

Following the new technological trends, Kama Haasan has decided to release his latest film ‘Vishwaroopam’ on Direct-To-Home (DTH) platform a day before the theatrical release of the film. Howver, it seems that theatre owners are unhappy with this decision of Hasan’s. Considering Haasan’s pronouncement of his intention to release `Vishwaroopam` in DTH on January 10 and in threatres the next day, theatre owners and their representatives all across the state engaged in a meeting to decide the future course of action.

In this context, association general secretary, Paneerselvam said that theatre owners have already asked Haasan not to release the film on DTH, which would set a precedent, leading to closure of theatres.”For one`s profit and benefit, it is not fair to bring down the entire film theatre industry…,” Paneerselvam said. “ In case, he goes ahead with the move to release it on DTH before releasing it in theatres, we will not screen his movies, old or new, in any theatres in the state,” he added.
