Third Cricket Film in 2018 from Akkineni Compound

As if suddenly, Tollywood filmmakers are evincing interest in the subjects related to cricket. The latest to join a couple of projects already announced is a cricket backdrop film starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead to be directed by Shiva Nirvana of ‘Ninnu Kori’ fame.

Samantha will be playing the female lead in this cricket backdrop family drama. Chay never played a cricketer on the screen though he is very much interested in cricket in his real life. This is seen as a different role for him. Coming to the other two projects, it’s a known news that Nani announced his next project ‘Jersey’ with a poster.

Nani will be seen playing the role of a cricketer. We have Vijay Deverakonda’s forthcoming movie which is also based on cricket though we aren’t sure what could be Vijay’s role. However, Rashmika Mandanna who will be playing Vijay’s romantic interest will be seen as a cricketer in the women’s league.
