If trade insiders are to be believed, Ram Charan’s Thoofan, Telugu version of Zanjeer has already minted INR 45 crores from theatrical rights alone. In Andhra Pradesh alone, the film has minted nearly INR 32 crores from theatrical rights, while in the rest of the country, it collected another INR 12-13 crores.
However, it would not be wise to say the film has already broken even because according to trade analyst the total cost of making both the versions of the film, including its promotional, comes to easily INR 100 crore. Therefore, the film needs to have a bumper opening to break even in the opening few days.
Lot of expectation is riding on the film since this is Ram Charan’s dream Bollywood debut. However, the fate of the film in Andhra Pradesh is hanging by a thin thread because the film may likely face the political ire.
