Tollywood: Fails Its Own Legend

Today is the 75th Birth Anniversary of Legendary Playback Singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam. It has been around a year since the COVID-19 has taken away the legend from us. While he may not be with us physically, Balu will remain in spirit as long as Telugu songs exist

SPB has given timeless classics even to nameless films. He has given memorable songs to almost every hero in the Telugu film industry. But then, the industry has let down the legend badly. Between January and April this year, Tollywood has recovered from the pandemic blow.

It was business as usual with multiple releases every week and promotional events almost every day. There were events with jam-packed auditoriums. We have even seen first of its kind events for first look launches as well. But not one in the industry bothered even to have a condolences or prayer meeting to the legend.

The industry has completely failed the legend. All that they do is write messages with pleasing words on social media for Jayanthi and Vardhanti more like for a formality and social media reach .
