TFI’s Best Year But No Biggie Successful

Without any doubt 2017 is one of the best years in Telugu Film Industry. We are the most successful film industry in India for the year 2017. And yet, no ‘big’ film (Katamarayudu, DJ, Spyder, and Jai Lava Kusa) has delivered, barring one. Yes, that is the sad state of affairs beneath all the happiness.

The only film to be a successful venture was Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film Khaidi No 150. Its profits were huge in few areas. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about any other biggie released in 2017. It is all over at this point as big star movies barring Charan have come and gone.

The most significant loser without any doubt is Spyder. Enough has been said about its disastrous fate, but even a film like Jai Lava Kusa is a loss-making proposition in several areas. Imagine if breakeven is the best possible case scenario, how bad the overall state is concerning the biggies.

It is the likes of Shatamanam Bhavati, Nenu Local, and Fidaa, Arjun Reddy and other smaller films which have been minting money. Even among them, some movies bought for high prices like Andhagadu, Kesava, and Yuddham Sharanam were bad for business.

Here’s hoping it gets better next year as all top heroes will have a release each in 2018.
